When opening the Provisioning Services Console in PVS 7.1 I received the following error:

“Critical error: The system setup is not correct”

No info in the stream.log or other log files, and also no errors in the event viewer logs.

No changes have been made in the PVS environment and the console worked fine the day before this error came up.


Solution: Restart the SOAP service.

After restarting the Citrix PVS SOAP service the console worked again. In my environment the Citrix PVS SOAP service and the Citrix Stream service are running with a Service Account that has access the DB.
