Many organizations have a default server build that is provisioned through a Hypervisor template or will be provisioned by SCCM or MDT/WDS.

The App-V 5.0 SP1 client service has dependencies with other services, these services need to be started before the App-V client can start.

If dependencies are missing the following error will be displayed in the system event log:

Event ID 7001
The Microsoft App-V Client service depends on the Network List Service which failed to start because of the following error:
The Service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it.

Although this error indicates that only one service is missing, the App-V client service indirectly has dependencies with 3 services, the Network List Service has a
dependency with the Network Location Awareness service and both the App-V service and the Network List Service need the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service:

– Network Location Awareness
– Remote Procedure Call
(RPC)
– Network List Service
